Junior Shoots
Junior Competitions are held throughout the year. See the Calendar for details of when the next competition is.
Always good fun, these shoots are shot in teams. The Blue, Green and Red team. Each team is decided by pulling names out of a hat.
After each shoot the scores are added up for each team, the highest score wins. Simple. 1st place receives 10 points, 2nd place 7 points and 3rd 5 points. The scores are then recorded and added up for the AGM at the end of the indoor season, medals are then awarded at the AGM for first, second and third place teams.
There are also trophies for the highest score for a Portsmouth and Fita 18.
There is also a "Junior Archer Of The Year" trophy which is awarded to the junior that the committee believes has excelled. This may not be the best junior, it could be for the person who has improved the most or someone who has been through a bad patch with their shooting but has shown strong perseverance.
